ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Júnior Jacques Destiladores is a project focused on the production of high quality distillates, developed and created in 2015 by Afonso Pereira and Marieke Devillé.
After several years working in the hotel and community development sectors for entrepreneurship, in extremely challenging contexts like Africa or Latin America, Afonso and Marieke decided to create a permanent base in Portugal, in a place where they could contribute to local development and the enhancement of traditional products. Due to the natural beauty, absolutely stunning and practically untouched, the southwest coast of the Alentejo, appeared quite naturally. But it was only after a careful analysis of investment opportunities in the region, that there was a need to rescue from the shadows of oblivion a product with age-old traditions and an absolutely incomparable quality – the arbutus brandy!
The name Júnior Jacques is the result of a heartfelt tribute that we want to do to our grandparents, Albano Pereira Júnior and Jacques Joaquim Guedes.
It was from them that we inherited, on the one hand, the taste for the art of alchemy and, on the other hand, the taste for the art of well-being, companionship and friendship. These are the fundamental bases of Junior Jacques. These are the essential qualities and values present in each and every one of our bottles.
